This first image fits under the Digital category because it has overlapping shapes and images, rough and primitive edges, and distressed textures. In regards to Digital graphic design the reading states, “artists who use the computer as a creative tool have created work that looks messy, chaotic, extreme, absurd, layered, illegible, unstable, expressive, poetic.” The image I chose fits this description. The image from the PowerPoint that resembles my image the most is found on slide 28.

This image fits under the Early Modern category because it has sans-serif type, photos rather than illustration, geometric abstraction, and asymmetrical layout. The reading talked about Jan Tschichold, an influential designer in Early Modern graphic design, and his book, “which advocated the sue of sans-serif type, asymmetrical layout and the grid as an underlying structure." Slide 29 most resembles this image.

I would classify this logo as Art Nouveau because it has hand-drawn typography, simple abstract shapes and abstraction in the hair, flat color and the drawing outlined in black. The reading said that one of the inspirations for Art Nouveau was the swirling forms in Van Gogh’s artwork, which this image contains. From the style sheets, I think this image from slide 24 in the Art Nouveau PowerPoint resembles the Panera logo best.

This image would fit under Psychadelia because of the almost illegible type, clashing complimentary colors of violet and yellow in the type, bright colors and abstracted curvilinear shapes. Psychadelic fashion was inspired by rock musicians and the design style was used for posters and music magazines, according to the reading. This design is for the musicians/entertainers Flight of the Conchords, so possibly the style of Psychadelia tends to have resurgence in the area it began. I think this image most resembles slide 14 in the Psychadelia PowerPoint.5.

Due to the informal, clean layout, simple images and typography, and geometric shapes, I would say this image would fit under the graphic design category Late Modern. On slide 54 in the Powerpoint, the word “ha” is typed multiple times as it increases in size to express an increase in volume. It is explained that this is classified as expressive typography. This image has expressive typography in the size increase of the word “BUZZ” which adds emphasis. From the PowerPoint on Late Modern I think slide 82 best resembles the image I chose.
