What jumped out at me on the Smashing Magazine site was the typography article.  I thought this was really neat because it shows and explains all the different types and ways to use fonts and letting to your advantage. I think this is really useful especially when you are trying to make your own ad or website that you want to jump out at the audience looking at it.  I think it's cool just by the font you use, or the color you choose has a major effect on if people are drawn to it or not. 

Another article that drew my attention was on OneExtraPixle about the cyber bullies.  I like that it draws out the effect of bullying in general and that maybe not everyone has has it happen to them, but maybe more people have seen cyber bullying happen or had it happen to them.  It makes it easier to bully people and to be more discrete about it or feel less impersonal about it. 

Finally the last article that drew my attention was on OneExtraPixle about the sexy and explicit advertising.  This caught my eye because when you look around at the media you see sex everywhere.  So many people use it to sell things, or just to grab someones attention and they explain it as "most powerful and persuasive advertising tools".  I completely agree with this and sometimes it is a little scary to see how lenient people are becoming when it comes to sex in the media and what they will accept as normal.  But if I was an advertiser and really needing a way to grab someones attention.. that's a way to do it!
