Arts & Crafts era
I think this poster for the movie "Killer God" is a good example of modern Arts and Crafts design. The two colors are balanced well, but there is an intricate design that promotes interest vs. dullness. It balances the design of the Victorian Age with the more simplistic values of modern art.
The pattern on the chair on pg. 7 is most comparable to this design.

This porcelain vase demonstrates Art Nouveau well because of its intricate plant motifs. The flora on this vase could arguably be influenced by Japanese design, another of Art Nouveau's characteristics.
The pg. 11 vases with floral design seem most similar to me.

While less extravagant than typical Victorian style, this room still has the luxurious feel of the Victorian era. Fine upholstery, matching carpet, fresh flowers, and a stone bust create a very lavish and yet modern feel in this room.
Pg. 4 and this room have very similar color palettes.

Since the goal of the Swiss/International style is to be universal and socially useful, these IKEA chairs are the perfect example. They look very simple, and yet their use is obviously for everyday, informal dining. It also has a feel that's slightly "retro."
Pg. 4 Chairs are most similar.

Owl City's gallery website has obviously been doctored through Photoshop. Graphic artists have been given more creative ownership than ever with more choices of manipulating a photograph. In this case, the typography has been altered, and the balloon is an obvious digital characteristic.
Pg. 38 Reminds me of this project because of the use of hues and opacity levels.
