DIGITAL
This example of a digital design is extremely chaotic, and the typography is overlapping the images. To add to the messy layout, there are many layered textures ranging from thick, bold lines to different shades of black covering the entire composition.
This design resembles the example on page 30 by using the same technique of layering type and images creating a messy layout.

ART DECO
The repetitive diagonal lines give a sense of motion, and is one of many flat shapes throughout the design. Again, there is overlapping between the figures and the type; integrating them both.

Although the color scheme and simplicity are different than the composition to the left, page 18 is a good comparison with the diagonal lines and integrated text/figures.

EARLY MODERNISM
The geometric shapes and flat color within this piece give it simplicity. The face figure along with the thick, white lines leaving the page from every direction provides motion and exaggeration.
The example on page 29 has the same outward motion of lines as well as the flat color and shapes. http://www.flickr.com/photos/felipeskroski/319925301/

PSYCHEDELIC
This is a great example of a psychedelic design. There are common objects, clashing colors, curves, an optical vibrating effect, as well as making the type slightly illegible.

The clashing colors and swirl pattern on page 7 resembles the design to the left.

VICTORIAN AGE
The realistic scene and the woman's beauty is emphasized by being in the center. Not only is there a border, but the shape of the border creates a cross; showing strong religious beliefs.

A resembling example on page 13 has a similar border style--providing a border that creates another shape in the center.
