My theme to this image collage is myself wrapped around my passion for music but my reach to find myself within the world of music.
My overall idea was to portray myself as the subject lost, not knowing where I am going. I have not yet shined through so I have kind of faded into the map with myself not complete. I do know I have potential which I tried to show with the outer and inner glow of the main picture. Also, I tried to mix everything together by making things less opaque and transparent. You can see the music coming through me as much as I am not complete. I will only be complete when I find myself together with music in a place on the map.
The most fun part of this project was the construction of the background. I consisted of about 10 different images morphed into one another. This makes it hard to pick out exactly what it is but if you search and take time to find it you will be able to find the objects I am trying to fit together. The best part of layering the background was morphing an old picture of a sheet of music with an picture of a map. Together they make an awesome background. After those two were layered I decided to hide objects that I magically cropped out of other pictures into the background.
I hope it is alright to understand that many of the objects that I used in the collage are hidden, washed out, and outlined to create the main idea that I am displaying.
After getting my objects hidden in the background, I took a few of those objects and put them in the corners of the map to show this is what I am trying to put together. They are farthest apart but yet sorround me. I think putting the compass on the map shows with the glow that it is sticking out telling me I can and need to use it to help me find my unity with everything.
I hope everyone else is proud of what photoshop can do because I am just amazed at what I was able to accomplish with the tools!
