Law #9- Failure
I was drawn to this rule because in this age people forget that failure is okay. Last year, I found a video titled Ken Robinson Says Schools Kill Creativity. One of the statement Ken made was "if you're not prepared to be wrong, you'll never come up with anything original." Think about how many times Edison failed before making the light bulb. As an artist, I have been told "the quicker I am to fail, the quicker I am to succeed." I think Matt Fonda say it best. "Failing shows something that isn’t working, not that you are unintelligent or incapable of success." Failure is an amazing thing that can open up other doors. Failure allows you to be creative in finding solutions instead of just going with your first solution.

Law #10-The One
The subtitle "Simplicity is about subtracting the obvious, and adding the meaningful" really caught my eye. For me this quote has came in to play when I came to college. It was about getting rid of the the things that I did in high school that I didn't really enjoy or weren't worth the time I put in to them. Don't get me wrong, I enjoy them all at the time, but found I need to move on to other things. As difficult as it is to say, I have also used this with people in my life. Although I do keep in touch with my friends from high school, I have also lost some of these people. I have learned that relationships should be 50-50 and I am going to make the most time for people that make the most time for me. I have found these relationships to be the most meaningful.

The Laws of Simplicity can be apply in all areas of my life. I can use it as an artist, as a student, as a friend, etc. There is no end to the list.
