interactive digital communication: The concept for this design comes from one of my hobbies...Pigeon Racing. These are not your run of the mill barn pigeons, they are pedigree pigeons with bloodlines traceable back to the early twenties, used by various European underground anti-Nazi groups to send messages to the Americans. These birds are capabile of flying up to 900kM @ 1.6 miles per minute; show me any man or animal that can sustain that level of endurance.
My design took a traditionist approach, I didn't like the trimming results with the magnetic lasso, I wasn't impressed with the abstract I created so this became more of a tradioninal layout relying on vertical read using reds to cause a vertical initial read rather than the standard left to right Z read. The background is the eye of a hurricane to stimulate the minds eye top perceive motion and depth of field.
The top two images depict a bird in flight coming in to land. The bottom three are from a race held in S. Africa; I am paring up individuals to produce offspring to race next fall. Bottom left is the release of birds from the carrier unit, center is the first place trophy (the race has a $1 million dollar purse), the bottom right is a wide shot of the multiple trailers releasing birds in the same race. The center shot is a cropped picture I just liked of a pair of pigeons, maybe a honey do shot :>) right is the female or hen, left is the male or cock... he seems somewhat apathic. They all have their own unique personalities...
