Blog 4

With the nature of any type of development industry, change is going to happen. The latest and greatest will be reached for in terms of everything. Competition drives the mad dash for the latest techniques, trends, tools and coding. So how do stay on top of everything?

There are many ways to absorb the latest in the industry. First and most interesting to me that I found were blogs. I am new to blogs and thought they were a unorganized way of talking out of person. It turns out, blogs can be a easy way for professionals to collaborate new tricks and ideas which others can get a seat in to learn as well. Sometimes blogs have secrets that have not yet got to books or to the masses. But also books are more structured and have more insight on a topic to learn.

Another general tip that can be applied to not just web development is doing things yourself and self investment. There are many useful tools our there for web development that can make your processes easier and faster. This is great if want to be a free loader and do not want to go over the norm and excel. Tools like j Query, java script libraries or other templates do the work for you leaving you not knowing the smarts behind it. If you do all of this yourself, you will be able to troubleshoot, impress and maybe take things further than an individual who freeloads. You may not need to do it yourself all the time as far as JavaScript but digging down and doing it yourself sometimes will allow you to be a behind the scenes star.
Also because everything is changing and you you can not live off of just the knowledge of schooling, self investment is important. Learning something new even if it may cost to learn it for example taking some courses will come back later for the better. To broaden your knowledge and increase your chances for promotions, learn something that compliments the knowledge you already know. Like for web developers, learning some marketing or learning a new trade such as animation would broaden your opportunities in your career.
