Smashing Magazine's discussion on mistakes applies to everyone, even outside of the design world. Robert Bowen put it perfectly by stating- "Our mistakes impart important lessons that we carry with us as we continue to hone our skill set. Own your mistakes". We can learn from our mistakes rather than taking them negatively and as a sign of failure. Once again, not only is this helpful for designers but for everyone in general. People share their experiences as learning opportunities for fellow designers. It is important to know the significance of mistakes. They can have a positive effect on your own work as well as others.
Onextrapixel stresses that it's important to stay up-to-date with the ins and outs of design. Being aware of new designs and skills are also shown throughout jobs such as doctors, dentists, hair stylists, teachers, management positions, etc. In order to succeed in life and to better your career, it is highly advised to become familiar with the advanced skills. With our fast-paced, competitive society, these technological improvements will only help us. Designers especially have a soaring level of competition; relying on ambition to develop new designs.
The two blogs that I read explain it all. For designers to keep up with their profession, they need to be able to take their mistakes and learn from them. They should also be open-minded when it comes to other designers' mistakes, experiences, and overall designs. Someones hurt can also be someones good. Not only are new techniques developed every day, but the design formats, measurements, pictures, and information are all altered; keeping the art of designs uniqueness.
