Looking through the 3 sites, I picked up on valuable design tips. In the typography article from the Smashing Magazine site, it says an artist presents her important information by using a simple page layout and with large, bold, font for the information she wants people to pay attention to. I see a lot of people do this. This article states a lot that simple fonts helps because it is very readable. Artist need to focus on small details, because they do help their sites look good, and attracts people to their site.
In the article "Showcase of Interesting Navigation Designs article", It says to keep a website simple, especially if you have long page with a lot of information. You don't want to confuse the people who visit the site. You want your users to be able to find their way throught the the site with simple navigation. If you simplify your web page, you need to make sure you don't bore people. It still needs to look fun.
The article "What do We Really Mean by Art", it says that people communicate through art. So obviously it means it is important to have art on your page. Art expresses ideas and emotion and also the world view.
